Introduction: Quokkas, small marsupials native to Australia, are often called the happiest animals on Earth due to their friendly nature and adorable smiles. They are primarily found on Rottnest Island.

Physical Characteristics: Quokkas are small, weighing about 5-7 pounds, with round bodies, short tails, and smiling faces. Their fur is brown and slightly coarse.

Habitat: Quokkas prefer dense vegetation where they can find shelter and food. They are nocturnal and come out at night to feed.

Diet: These herbivores primarily eat grasses, leaves, and stems. They can survive long periods without water, deriving moisture from their food.

Behavior: Quokkas are known for their curious and friendly behavior towards humans. However, feeding or handling them is prohibited to protect their health and well-being.

Conservation Status: Quokkas are classified as vulnerable due to habitat loss and introduced predators. Conservation programs on Rottnest Island have helped stabilize their population.
